Motions Hearing Held for Beckley Police Officer

Posted: Updated:
BECKLEY -

The case against a Beckley Police officer charged with domestic battery went to court, Thursday, for a motions hearing.

Attorney's for both the defense of the accused, Bryan Atterson, and the prosecution were present.

At the heart of the matter was whether or not the attorney's hired by the defense presented a conflict of interest and should stay on the case or be dismissed.

A decision on that matter should be made by the end of the day, Friday.

An additional motions hearing will be held in 45 days.  At that time a trial date could be set.

Atterson is charged with domestic battery as well as the unlawful detention of his former girlfriend.
