Jameis Winston not charged; Summers Co. v. Shady Spring Basketball

Posted: Updated:

---Florida State fans can breathe now breathe easy. Star quarterback and Heisman front-runner Jameis Winston will not be charged with a rape that he was accused of almost one year ago.

In a press conference today Florida's state attorney Willie Meggs announced that there was not enough evidence to pursue charges against Winston.

The decision came at a good time for FSU as the #1 BCS ranked Seminoles are preparing for the ACC Championship game against Duke on Saturday.

With the Heisman ballots due Monday, the decision could keep him in the lead to win it.

---It's officially basketball season and Thursday Summers County and Shady spring hit the hardwood.

Kelsea Collins took it down court and met two Bobcats under the basket but passes it out to Abigail Gwinn who knocked down a deep 2.

Lady Bobcats answered back as Avery Pivont got open and dropped a big bucket.

Shady Spring on the inbounds tried to pass it down court but Brittney Justice got the steal and gave a great pass across the lane to Brandy Morrison who puts it up for 2 points.

Bobcats dominated the first half. In the second quarter Brennah Davis got another steal for the visitors and got the breakaway cashing it in with the layup.

They kept up the intensity all night.
