Storm hits Texas Storm hits Texas

There was a lot of splash and dash driving around Beckley Friday.  The high water sign was even up on Eisenhower Drive in Beckley, where drivers were taking it easy.

The winter weather that just hit Texas, is part of a larger system that is headed towards Virginia and West Virginia and it could create icy conditions early Sunday, according to StormTracker 59 meteorologists.

"I'm worried about it and scared of it.  I'm going to the store," said Christi Neely of Maple Fork.

People headed to stores like IGA in Daniels, to pick up essentials like milk and eggs.  People also headed to Lowe's in Beckley to get salt, ice melt, heaters, and generators.

You may want to make sure their car has a half-tank of gas, since gas stations operate off of electricity and trim trees in your yard.

People are encouraged to stay off roads during and after the storm, until conditions clear up.
