A family is without a home in Raleigh County after their house catches fire.

Firefighters responded to the flames in Crab Orchard after it started in the second floor on Sunday morning.

The family was not home at the time. Homeowner Mack Blankenship told 59News he had just remodeled his home and decorated it for the holiday.

"I just can't believe that all the work I've put into this place is gone. I know things happen but you never think it'll happen to you," Blankenship said.

The home is a total loss. They plan to stay with family.
