$400,000 worth of pot found in Princeton home

Officers with Princeton Police and the Sour then Regional Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force seized hundreds of thousands of dollars in marijuana plants from a home in Princeton. The pot plants were found while they were serving warrants in Mercer County.

When officer showed up at 202 Mikee Road in Princeton to serve an arrest warrant, they said that there was a strong smell of marijuana when they went into the home.  According to leaders at the Princeton Police, officers were able to get a search warrant for the home and found a grow house.  Three rooms filled with 98 marijuana plants.

Investigators said that the plants were worth about $400,000. The officers also seized $50,000 worth of equipment used to grow the plants. The equipment included lights, a watering system and a ventilation system.  Police said that the house had special wiring to accommodate the equipment.

Shantee McKinley was arrested on charges of Cultivating Marijuana.  She is free on bond.  The case is still under investigation by the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force.
