MORGANTOWN -

A Television crew came to West Virginia to get stories of Shannon Stafford. A woman who was shot to death by her estranged father in law in a parking in April 2012.

Mary Newton was a friend and Stafford's boyfriend's mother. She was on the phone with Stafford when the incident occurred.

"I told her I said Shannon look and see if you see him," said Mary Newton. "And that's when I heard her respond in the truck and... It all went bad from there."

Investigation Discovery has television shows that take a closer look at murders around the world.

Camera men and interviewers spent hours with Stafford's family and friends for the episode that will air Sunday, December 22 at 9 PM on Investigation Discovery.

After all of the video taken and interviews conducted. Shana Nine, who lived with Stafford as a child in her grandparents home, is still a little nervous about seeing the finished product.

"I'll have my family, and getting the support for them because I'm sure this is going to be difficult to see," said Nine. There will be recreations, we have not seen the final product. We will be seeing it for the first time as well as everyone else."

Both Nine and Newton are excited to have Stafford's story told. But Newton isn't sure she's ready to relive it.

"I want to however I just don't know that I can do that at this point," said Newton. "What I want to see come out of this. I want to see other young ladies who are in the same position that Shannon was, to listen to what happened and take head, take warning to it."

"I think it's going to hit us all over again," said Nine. "I don't think you ever truly get over something like this you just learn to live with the pain."
