Santa and Mrs. Claus made a special Christmas visit Wednesday to the VA Hospital in Beckley to bring some holiday cheer to our Veterans.

Every year the VA Hospital puts together Christmas activities such as going to see Christmas lights. Calfee Funeral Home distributed stockings and everyone was able to have their picture taken with Santa.

Marine Veteran Thomas O'McDaniel told 59News how much the events warm his heart.

"Almost everything you can do at home they try to give it to us here and this is the hardest place to make feel like home. You can feel at home a lot of different places except here. This is a hard place and they work very hard to make us feel comfortable and at home," said O'McDaniel.

The American Legion and The United Way of Southern West Virginia donated Christmas trees for the event.
