According to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office, the scene at Poca Valley Bank in Elkview, WV has been cleared. Deputies say the suspicious package was a plastic bag filled with newspapers.
The KCSO used a handheld device to scan the bag, but were unable to tell what might be underneath the bag. Deputies then used the bomb squad robot to move the package as a precaution. Nothing was found underneath the package.
The bank has re-opened and customers were allowed back inside. Employees of the bank were not evacuated, but were moved to a conference room in the back of the building.
About 9:00 a.m. the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office received a call about a suspicious package at the Poca Valley Bank in Elkview, WV.
According to the West Virginia State Police, the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office is investigating the package while the WVSP provide support.
Deputies are using a robot to search the building.
