Temperatures did warm up for crews to work on that rock slide.

It happened last Friday night, on Route 3 near Naoma in Raleigh County.

Boulders the size of houses fell from a steep cliff and have blocked both lanes of Route 3. Drivers continue to be rerouted onto Route 1.

The Department of Highways told59News on Saturday that they hope to be able to drill on top of the cliff by noon on Monday.  After that they'll start blasting beginning on Wednesday.

They also told us they will then dump the rocks a mile west down Route 3 near where a bridge is being constructed.  The DOH estimates both lanes of Route 3 will re-open in 2-3 weeks.
