What does the state of emergency mean for tourism?

BECKLEY, W.Va -

Whether it's the change of seasons, natural disasters, or state of emergencies, the numbers of tourist around the world change for many reasons.

I was shocked to find out that Tamarack in Beckley was actually profiting from this state of emergency. What the chemical spill is doing is driving people away from the Charleston area and sending some of them our way.

"We have had a lot of business from West Virginia and Charleston this weekend."

The General Manager of Tamarack told me that this is the slowest time of the year for their business and it's nice to see people from out of town taking time to take a look around.

Tamarack in Beckley sees about 400,000 visitors a year.
