We have an update on a recent "Finding a Family" segment.

We met Cody in October at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum and he was in his full Ghostbuster gear. That piqued the interest of a local group, which has spread his story across the country.

Cody's gear caught the eye of a Ghostbuster fan group in Charleston, W.Va., but their interest went beyond the jumpsuit and proton pack.

"It really hit me," member Kevin Pauley said. "I mean, it kind of crushed me, really, and I thought 'We've got to do something for this kid.' "

Pauley shared Cody's story in a national forum, GBfans.com, where Chris Notaro watched it in Las Vegas, N.V.

"I kept watching the clip over and over again," Notaro said, and one of Cody's statements stuck with him.

"As long as it's an ok family, any family will do," Cody said in that interview.

"There's no reason any 16 year old should have to make that statement," Notaro said.

Notaro's first thought was to give Cody some of his Ghostbuster gear, and realized that just wouldn't be enough.

"It could be a $10,000 proton pack, it could be a $30,000 dollar car. It doesn't matter," Notaro said. "It's all worldly possessions. I just want this kid to have a family. I want him to feel what I've felt. So it just feels like, I haven't done enough yet."

Notaro created a Facebook page to share Cody's story and Pauley's group in Charleston is working on ways to get him involved in their events.

"We joke that even if we can't get him adopted, he now has a crazy bunch of uncles who will dress up like a Ghostbuster with him and go do stuff," Pauley said.

Their ultimate goal, though, is to help Cody find a family.

"If we can find him a family, it's just going to be a landing on the moon, home run, first time in Yankee stadium, everybody clapping type of feeling," Notaro said.
