Man Accused of Locust Ave. Murders Arraigned, Pleads Not Guilty

Arraignments for the January 2014 term of the Harrison County grand jury were held in Judge Thomas Bedell's chambers Thursday.

Among those arraigned, Sidney Muller, of Fairmont, accused of the shootings deaths of Christopher Hart, 26, Todd Russell Amos, 29, Freddy Swiger, 70, and Fred Swiger, 47, pleaded not guilty to four counts of murder. Judge Bedell ruled that pre trial motions in the case must be filed by Feb. 28. His trial is scheduled for April 14.

Adam Bowers was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual assault, burglary and robbery in connection to a 2001 rape and robbery. Bowers was arraigned by video conference from the Northern Correctional Center where he is currently located. His trial is scheduled for April 28. 

Nathan Mitchell pleaded not guilty to four counts of concealment or removal of a minor child from a custodian or from a person entitled to visitation. Nathan Mitchell is accused of violating a court order granting grandparent visitation with the intent to deprive his daughter from seeing Shannon Stafford's foster grandparents, according to court documents. His trial is set for April 7.

Lewis Dailey pleaded not guilty to six counts of 3rd degree sexual assault and one count of conspiracy to commit third degree sexual assault. His trial is set for April 21.

Jamey Doddrill pleaded not guilty to two counts of third degree sexual assault and one count of conspiracy to commit third degree sexual assault. A pre trial hearing is scheduled for Feb. 28. Dailey and Doddrill are accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teenage girl and will be tried together.
