Family searching for answers after reporting Clay County man missing

CLAY COUNTY, West Virginia -

Troopers with the West Virginia State Police are searching for a missing man from Clay County, WV.

They said 56-year-old Joel William Finch was reported missing Tuesday morning.

Finch's fiancé told troopers he had left on Jan. 20 around noon from his home on Rock Camp Road to look for a job in Dunbar.  Finch left the home on foot and took his dog with him.

Troopers have checked in with local hospitals and homeless shelters in the area. So far, they do not have any leads in the case. They said he does not have any immediate family members.

Finch has a tiger tattoo on his back and an American flag tattoo on his upper right arm, and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a grey hooded sweatshirt, Rocky boots, and carrying a black bag. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Joel William Finch, you're asked to contact the West Virginia State Police at 304-286-3185 or 911.
