Virginia Tech's 2014 football schedule released; AP prep basketball polls

---Virginia Tech's 2014 football schedule was released Wednesday and the 12 game schedule includes two Thursday night games

The first is on October 16th at Pittsburgh, and the Hokies will host Miami a week later on Thursday, October 23rd at Lane Stadium.

And for the first time in school history Tech will play Ohio State. It's the first of a two-game series and this year it will be at the Horseshoe in Columbus, Ohio on September 6th.

In 2015 Virginia Tech will host the Buckeyes in Blacksburg on Labor Day.

---In Major League Baseball, after a huge bidding war it was announced today the Yankees signed Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka to a 7 year $155 million dollar contract.

25-year old Tanaka went 24-0 playing for the Rakuten Golden Eagles with a 1.27 ERA.

Other teams who were out for Tanaka were the Dodgers, Cubs, White Sox and the Diamondbacks.
