    WV State Regional Jail Authority Director, Joe DeLong, confirmed that four correctional officers and four other inmates are now charged after they plotted to kill another inmate.
    WV State Regional Jail Authority Director, Joe DeLong, confirmed that four correctional officers and four other inmates are now charged after they plotted to kill another inmate.

Two men were sentenced and three others admitted to drug distribution charges in federal court in Wheeling, U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II reports.

Sentenced were Deon Young, 27, to serve 108 months in prison plus three years of supervised release and Carlos Moore, 27, to serve 42 months in prison plus three years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute cocaine base and heroin from November of 2012 to January of 2013. Young also must forfeit $2,260 and Moore, $1,541. Both were remanded to the custody of U.S. Marshals pending designation to a federal prison.

Entering pleas were:

* Devon Bertram, 24, and Gary Moe Wade, 39, each pleaded guilty to distribution of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of Wheeling Central Catholic High School. Betram, who is in custody pending sentencing, and Wade face up to 40 years in prison.

* Jerome Melvin Ross, 22, pleaded guilty to distribution of crack cocaine within 1,000 Feet of Riverview Towers. Ross faces up to 40 years in prison.

These cases were prosecuted by U.S. Attorney Ihlenfeld and Assistant U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard and investigated by the Ohio Valley Drug Task Force, which is comprised of officers and agents from the West Virginia State Police-BCI, Wheeling Police, the Ohio County Sheriff's Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
