Ringing in 2014 meant marking 20 years in business for Jan Dils, Attorneys at Law.

The firm has plans for a year-long celebration of the anniversary.

"It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years," said firm founder Jan Dils. "It is so rewarding to know that every day holds new opportunities to help make a real difference in someone's life.

"It keeps our team focused on what really matters, and we are ready to tackle the next 20 years."

Dils and her team started with just one location in Parkersburg in 1994.

Throughout the span of 20 years, the business has grown to 107 staff members who serve clients from six offices in West Virginia as well as one office in North Carolina.

The firm is well-known for its work in helping clients receive Social Security and Veterans' Administration benefits. A partnership with attorney Jim Leach has increased the firm's work on personal injury cases as well.

But it may be the catchy jingle the firm is best known for, which Dils said came from her desire to emphasize the qualities that make it a good choice for clients.

"After all, there are plenty of attorneys to choose from," Dils said. "But our clients choose us because we dig in and get results. That's the bottom line.

"I think our slogan has been so successful because people recognize the truth and commitment behind it."

The firm also has been recognized for its community service that spans small, one-time gestures to larger events such as the annual Walk4Vets event which has raised thousands of collars to benefit local veterans.

The firm has locations in Parkersburg, Charleston, Logan, Beckley, Huntington and Morgantown as well as its Charlotte, N.C. office.
