Mullens family that lost home to fire doing better but still in need

Posted: Updated:

We are Working For You to find out how a Wyoming County family that lost their home in a fire is doing now.

Just 4 days before Christmas, a family of seven's house went up in flames in Mullens.  2 days later, a stranger donated his own home to them.

Mother Peggy Fury told 59News they couldn't be more thankful to their community for their support.

"It has been great, it really has. Everybody has pitched in and helped, I'm really grateful for that. I never thought I'd be sitting there without a home, not knowing what to do for my kids, then all of a sudden everything fell into place," Fury said.

Fury told us they're still in need of a couch, dresser, high chair and cabinets.

To donate, drop off resources at 922 Poplar Street Mullens or call Peggy Fury at (304) 294-8258.
