Field hearing on WV chemical release scheduled for US House committee members
The office of Shelley Moore Capito announced that the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will conduct a field hearing on Feb. 10 at 9 a.m. at the Kanawha County Courthouse.
According to the release, Rep. Capito requested the field hearing. U.S. Representative Nick J. Rahall, who serves as the lead Democrat on the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, will also be at the hearing.
The hearing will examine how the chemical spill occurred and how similar spills can be prevented in the future.
