MULLENS -

UPDATE:

Mullens Police Chief Ray Toler announced that Joyce Ann Lambert was arrested on Friday, Jan 31 with the help of McDowell County Sheriff Martin West.  She was found at a home in Welch.

Lambert is facing a laundry list of charges, including Grand Larceny, Petit Larceny, Making Harassing Phone Call, Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Malicious Wounding and Accessory Before the Fact.  The charges stem from the beating of Robert Noon, Jr. on Monday Jan. 20.  Noon was taken to CAMC General where he spent nearly a week in ICU.

Lambert is being held in the McDowell County Holding Unit on a $25,000 cash bond.  She is expected to be transferred to the regional jail system this weekend.

The investigation into the beating of a man at his home outside of Mullens resulted in the arrest of a third person on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Mullens Police Chief Ray Toler said that Travis Lafferty of Glen Rogers was arrested in the early afternoon on Wednesday.  Lafferty is accused of beating up Robert Noon, Jr. on Monday, Jan 20.  Noon was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center, where he was in ICU for nearly a week.

Lafferty was located by officers with the Oceana Police Department.  They advised Mullens Police of Lafferty's location, and investigators from Mullens made the arrest.

Lafferty is the third person arrested in this case.  Cyphelas and Devin Fuller were arrested earlier in the week.  Lafferty is charged with Attempted Murder, Malicious Wounding and Burglary.

Chief Toler said that there is a fourth suspect in the case.  That persons name is not being released at this time.  Watch for more information on the investigation both here and on the air.
