GRIDIRON CELEBRITY HOOPS SUPER BOWL XLVIII WEEKEND
NEW YORK, Jan. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Saturday, February 1st, Gridiron Celebrity Hoops XVI bounces into New York attracting a host of celebrities and professional athletes to play ball in the city that's already in a NFL state of mind. The star-powered event will tip-off at 3:00 p.m. at City College Nat Holman Gymnasium Marshak Building, 160 Convent Avenue.
Celebrities scheduled to participate: Stevie J (Love & Hip Hop), Jay Ellis (The Game), Po Johnson (La La's Full Court Life), Joe Budden (Love & Hip Hop), DJ Clue (Power 105.1), Dez Bryant (Cowboys), Desean Jackson (Eagles), Quinton Coples (Jets), Terrell Owens (Future Hall of Fame), Grammy Nominated artist,Tank, and Supermodel Jessica Dykstra, and more. Authors Dr. Sampson Davis (Living and Dying in Brick City) & Kenny Burns (The Dream is Real) share their new releases. Not to be outdone, streetballers take center court with an epic slam dunk contest.
Celebrating 16 years, Gridiron remains one of the most anticipated annual events during Big Game weekend. It's the first & only charity celebrity basketball game to be officially sanctioned by the NFL. Now independently produced by Jam Sports Productions, the event showcases "Playing with a Purpose" - to raise awareness, and share information on adopting children and teens placed in the foster care system who have suffered from abuse, neglect, homelessness, violence, and instability.
