UPDATE:

The Raleigh County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a person who was found dead in the Beckley area on Saturday, Feb. 8.  Bobby Joe Pauley, 32, of Beckley was found in a creek off of Stanaford Mine Road.  Pauley was found face down at around 9 a.m. behind Brandies Muffler Garage.

Detectives with the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department are still waiting for the autopsy results.  Investigators said that they do not believe there was anything suspicious about the death.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A body was found in a creek Saturday around 9:30 a.m.   That is according to a press release from the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department.

The body of a white male was found near Stanaford Mine Road by a worker with the North Beckley Public Service District, who immediately notified 911.

Detectives say there are no obvious signs of foul play.

The body has been sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.

The identity of the body will not be released until family members are notified.

The investigation continues.
