UPDATE:

Beckley Police have identified the man who allegedly fired shots in the uptown Beckley area on Monday, Feb. 10.  Kevin D. Thompson, 52, is charged with Wanton Endangerment.

Thompson allegedly fired shots just after 12 p.m. on Monday in the area of North Fayette Street across from the public defenders office. Thompson is being held in the Southern Regional Jail on a $30,000 bond.


Police in Beckley made an arrest in an investigation into shots being fired near uptown Beckley.

Police were called to the area of North Fayette Street near the Public Defenders office just of 12 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10.  Officers with the Beckley Police Department made an arrest not long after the call came in.

Details are still limited.  There is no word on the identity of the suspect who is police custody.  59News is following this story and will have more information as it becomes available.
