    A fire late Thursday night leaves a family in McDowell County homeless. Everyone was able to get out of the home in Raysal safely, but a friend of the family, who saved their dog, told us it was a very close call.

More than a third of businesses in Raleigh County checked in an underage alcoholic sting were found to be selling alcohol to underage customers. The sting was a joint effort by law enforcement officers in Raleigh County and the West Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Administration.

The sting was conducted on Friday, Feb. 7.  According to investigators, there were a total of 38 establishment that were checked.  Officers went into the businesses with underage buyers who tried to buy alcohol using their actual ID cards that showed they were under 21.  If the business refused to sell alcohol to the buyers, they were instructed to leave.

Clerks and servers who sold alcohol illegally ware charged with Selling Alcohol to a Person Under 21.  The businesses also face penalties from the ABCA.  The sting was funded by the West Virginia Southern Regional Highway Safety Program and the ABCA.

  9. Outback Steak House in Beckley
  10. Campestre in Beckley
  11. Co Mac on Harper Road in Beckley
  12. Harper Road Shell in Beckley
  13. Foster's in Beckley
