Bluefield WV city manager, Jim Ferguson, resigns

There will be a changing of the guard in Bluefield, WV in the coming weeks as the city manager chooses to open the next chapter in his life.

Jim Ferguson announced that he has submitted his resignation as the City Manager to the board and they have accepted it.  According to Ferguson, his last day on the job will be Monday, Feb. 16. 

Ferguson issued a statement stating that the reason for his stepping down are personal and he does not wish to discuss them at this time.  He added that there are no health or family issues involved in the decision.

"So begins a new chapter in my life.  I'm a life long resident of Bluefield and it will remain my home," said Ferguson.  "Bluefield has a bright future with vast potential and I wish the City the very best."

Ferguson is also the president of the Rotary in Bluefield.
