CHARLESTON -

Dixon Hughes Goodman, the largest CPA firm based in the South and the 15th largest in the nation, has added a trio of new staff members to its offices in West Virginia.

 Chad Hovis is lead consulting manager in the firm's health care consulting group. He works in Dixon Hughes Goodman's Charleston office. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Arnett Foster Toothman, where he was a senior manager.

With more than 17 years of experience, he is knowledgeable in many complex areas of Medicare reimbursement, including graduate medical education, Medicare disproportionate share, Medicare bad debts, sole community and Medicare dependent designations, wage index and other areas of significant Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.

He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Marshall University in 1995.

 Patrick Smith, a graduate of Virginia Tech, has joined Dixon Hughes Goodman as a tax manager in the Charleston office. Sarah Blevins is a new tax senior associate in the firm's Morgantown office.

Based in Charlotte, N.C., the firm dates to 1932 and today has more than 1,800 employees in offices in North Carolina, West Virginia and nine other states.
