HUNTINGTON, WV -

Dr. Frank Shuler, an orthopedic traumatologist with Marshall Orthopaedics and the medical director of Cabell Huntington Hospital's Senior Fracture Program, has been selected as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in the field of orthopedic surgery.

Shuler was nominated by his peers and reviewed by a physician-led research team that examined his credentials and selected him for his excellence in medical care and practice.

He joined Cabell Huntington Hospital and the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in 2011.

Shuler earned his medical degree and doctorate at West Virginia University, then completed his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh. He's also a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Shuler serves as vice chairman of research for the School of Medicine's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Cabell Huntington, a 303-bed academic medical center in Huntington, is home to the Hoops Family Children's Hospital and the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center. Since 1956, it's served patients in southern West Virginia, eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio.
