Martin & Seibert attorney Jason S. Murphy was admitted to practice in Virginia by the state Supreme Court in a bar admission ceremony at the Richmond Convention Center Dec. 4. 

Walter M. Jones III, the firm's managing shareholder, said Murphy's admission increases the firm's ability to serve clients and allows Martin & Seibert to increase its presence in Virginia. 

A native of New York, Murphy is a 1996 graduate of West Virginia University, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science. He graduated from Michigan State University College of Law in 2000. 

Before joining Martin & Seibert, he worked for a Northern Virginia law firm with a multi-jurisdictional practice where he represented banking institutions, servicers, creditors, mortgage lenders and GSEs in creditors' rights, real estate, foreclosure and commercial litigation in Maryland.

His practice areas at Martin & Seibert are insurance defense, personal injury, toxic torts, commercial litigation and creditors' rights. The firm, with offices in West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia, focuses its practice on litigation and business matters.
