The February term of the grand jury in Mercer County returned 95 indictments.  The list which was released on Friday, Feb. 14 included indictments for a variety of crimes from Attempted Murder to Embezzlement.  There were also a variety of robbery charges.

Richard Hart was indicted on charges of Attempted Murder, Grand Larceny and DUI charges.  Hart is a resident of Matoaka who allegedly stole a car in October 2013 then lead police on a chase through the Spanishburg area.  The attempted murder charge comes from when Hart apparently tried to run down a law enforcement officer.

Roy Lee Williams also faces an Attempted Murder charge.  He is accused of tying Princeton man, George Delaney, to a toilet and slit Delaney's throat with a knife.  That happened in Dec. 2012.  Police said that Williams returned to Delaney's house twice and cut him free, only after Delaney promised not to call police.

Nearly 15-percent of the indictments were directly drug related, involving the dealing of controlled substances from Marijuana to Cocaine.  There was also one case of Embezzlement and several indictments for Child Abuse.  (Click Here for the complete list of indictments)
