Snow could postpone Valentine's deliveries

Posted: Updated:

It wouldn't be Valentine's day without a big bouquet of flowers from a loved one. But with snow covering the ground and many businesses closed, it could delay some of those orders from getting there in time.

Gillepsies flower shop in White Sulphur Springs covered their bouquets with plastic bags to protect them from the freezing temperatures. They said delivering during the storm was "challenging. Especially Thursday, and of course today where businesses and schools and institutions were closed they can't receive their Valentines flowers, but we've been making quite a few deliveries today."

Ahead of Thursday's storm, FTC altered flower shops around the area to drop off some of their deliveries on Wednesday to ensure everything arrived in time.

The shop owner of Gillepsies said they were able to make most of their deliveries on time, despite the weather. Any deliveries that don't make it for the big day will arrive on Saturday. So you can't blame the snow for not having a gift for your valentine.
