How to help anxious pets in thunderstorms

PRINCETON -

Thunderstorms in the forecast might actually be causing some anxiety for your cats and dogs at home.

It's a problem that many pet owners are aware of... but they might not know how to help.
We looked into some products available at your local pet store that will calm your animals down during a storm.
One new item we found is called a thunder shirt that acts like a jacket for your dog.
The owner of Kimz Pet Express in Princeton said it's been very popular recently.

"The thunder shirt, when you put it on basically wraps around their torso and holds them tight," said Kimz Pet Express owner Kim Glasscock.

Other items sold for pet anxiety include collars, sprays, and even a device that emits pheromone when plugged in that remind the pet of its parent and puts them at ease.
