59News is getting to the bottom of rumors parents have heard concerning a Raleigh County elementary school.

Parents have been emailing us saying Mabscott Elementary was no longer serving hot breakfast to students who have had arguments in the cafeteria. The principal told us the rumor is not true and that no school administrator would deny a meal as a disciplinary measure.

She said the rumor may have started because of a change on how Mabscott serves breakfast. The Elementary School is offering more meals at different times and in different locations.

"We decided for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders to eat breakfast in the classroom. We have the option to go to the classroom with either their hot or cold breakfast. Another option is the 'breakfast after 1st' at 9:30. They can come to the cafeteria, that's a cold option," said principal Beverly Weis.

Principal Weis said during two-hour delays only a cold breakfast option is offered.
