BRISTOL, Tenn. -

Two people from Southern West Virginia died Saturday night following a deadly wreck along I-81 in Bristol, Tennessee.

Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed the two-vehicle collision involved a tractor trailer and a car with our CBS sister station WJHL in Johnson City, TN.

We're learning the tractor trailer was in the right lane headed north on I-81. It then rear-ended a Toyota Camry causing the car to go into a tail spin. The tractor trailer and car crossed 3 lanes then hit the median pinning the car in between the truck and the barrier. The driver of the truck was ejected and then hit by a third vehicle on the other side of the median.

The truck driver has been identified as 54-year-old Carl Osburn of Princeton.

The driver of the Toyota Camry, 81-year-old Dennis Dawson of Beckley, suffered fatal injuries and later died after being taken to Bristol Regional Medical Center.

The passenger of the Toyota Camry, 75-year-old Connie Dawson was also taken to Bristol Regional Medical Center and she is currently in critical condition.

All lanes are now back open along I-81.
