    Emergency crews were called to the scene of a ATV accident, just before 10 pm Friday.According to Fayette County 911 the ATV was struck by a vehicle along the 1900 block of Rt 60 Anstead area of Fayette County.One person was transported by helicopter, to a local hospital for treatment, The extent of those injuries or what caused the accident is not yet known at this time.The Fayette County Sheriff Department is investigating.

UPDATE:

Lawyers for the prosecution and defense presented their opening arguments in a nearly three-year-old murder case on Tuesday, Feb. 25. 

Jeremy Lambert is accused of killing Cyan Maroney in Oct. 2011.  Jury selection was conducted on Monday and the trial began at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.  59News has a crew covering the trial.  Watch for more information here and on the air.

 


A murder case that is more than two years old is finally going to trial.  Jury selection began on Monday, Feb. 24 the trial of Jeremy James Lambert.

 

Lambert allegedly killed Cyan Elizabeth Maroney on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011.  It happened on Myers Avenue at around 8:30 p.m.  Maroney was stabbed and taken to Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital where she was declared dead.  She was a dancer with the West Virginia Dance Company.

Lambert lead police on a four hour chase following the stabbing.  The chase stretched across Nicholas, Fayette, Greenbrier and Raleigh Counties.  Lambert was indicted in January 2012 on charges of First Degree Murder.  He is a resident of Oak Hill.
