The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra will feature Beethoven with violinist Korbinian Altenberger of Astral Artists at 8 p.m. on Feb. 28 and March 1 in the Maier Foundation Performance Hall at the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences of West Virginia.

"No composer has quite matched Beethoven's ability to capture the essential nobility of the human spirit," said Grant Cooper, artistic director and conductor of the WVSO. "Our WVSO concert of the Eroica symphony and the violin concerto presents two of the composer's most devastatingly powerful works – triumphant yet sensitive."

Prior to the performance, Maestro Cooper hosts Preludes, a conversation on the evening's music, at 7 p.m. Cooper will conduct these Capitol Conference Center Symphonic Series concerts, which are sponsored in part by the BB&T West Virginia Foundation.
