The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has released an age progressed photo of Aliayah Lunsford, who has been missing from Lewis County since September 2011.  Lunsford was three years old when she was reported missing from her Weston home.  The new photo shows her as a five year old.

On the morning of September 24, 2011, Aliayah was reported missing to 911 officials, by her mother, Lena Lunsford.  A search for Aliayah, involving the FBI, lasted for weeks following her disappearance and an investigation continues to this day.

Following Aliayah's disappearance, Lena Lunsford was convicted of federal welfare fraud charges.  She has been arrested a number of times since then on charges of violating the terms of her release.

Meanwhile, relatives and community members have worked to keep Aliayah's disappearance in the headlines, marking the two year anniversary last September.

Lewis County Sheriff Adam Gissy said having the photo available can be a big help in refreshing people's memory and making her more recognizable.

"We're hoping that, with the progression, they may see some identifying characteristics if they were to come across the little girl, that would hopefully give them the attention to detail to where they would give us a call and then look into it," said Gissy.

Gissy says the sheriff's department hasn't given up hope that Aliayah may still be found alive and well.

Anyone with information on Aliayah is asked to call the Lewis County Sheriff's Department at 304-269-8245.
