    Emergency dispatchers confirm one has been transported to the hospital following a house fire on Falls View Road in Falls View early Monday morning (9/16).The house was reportedly empty at the time of the fire.Gauley Bridge, Boomer and Smithers Fire Departments have responded. Jan Care and General Ambulances, along with the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, are also on scene.

BECKLEY -

A pair of public meetings have been scheduled by the Raleigh County Board of Education to allow parents and members of the community to comment on the upcoming school year.

The mandatory public hearings are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25 and Tuesday, March 11.  The goal is to offer a chance for parents, school district employees, community members and other interested parties a chance to provide input into the development of the school calendar for 2014-2015.

Both hearings will be held at the Raleigh County Board of Education Office in Munson Hall.  The meeting on Feb. 25 is being held at 5 p.m.  The March 11 meeting begins at 4:30 p.m.  According to a release from the Raleigh County Board of Education, oral statements during the meeting will be limited to five minutes and may be supplemented with written comments.
