Richard Creehan, president of Alderson Broaddus University, announced Feb. 24 that the University has extended its three-year commitment of a comprehensive fee freeze, which includes tuition, room, board and a general fee for a fourth year, through spring of 2015.

"Alderson Broaddus University's affordability initiative with comprehensive fee freeze is not a gimmick and there are no price increases," said Creehan. "We are making a genuine effort to help parents. The comprehensive fee freeze is for all of our undergraduate students.

"We have frozen not only tuition but also room and board."

In October of 2011, school officials announced the three-year commitment, introducing the affordability initiative which included freezing the direct cost of education, controlling student loan debt and maintaining "time-to-degree," a concept which aids students in obtaining a four-year bachelor's degree in four years.

In addition to freezing all fees and recommending modest student loans, with over 80 percent of students receiving academic scholarships and 99 percent qualifying for financial aid, an ABU education becomes a private school experience at a public school cost.
