Black Ice Causing Accidents Throughout Southern West Virginia

METALTON -

The snow caused major problems for drivers out on the roadways but now Black Ice is a concern especially with below freezing temperatures at night and into the early morning hours.

As one driver learned in Raleigh County Tuesday night, you may not know the roads are slick because of the difficulty of seeing Black Ice.

As she traveled along Harper Road in Metalton she lost control of her pick-up truck and ended up in ditch.

She had to be rescued by Trap Hill Fire Department and taken to the hospital by Jan Care Ambulance because of the injuries she sustained.

One of the front tires was mangled, the grill pushed in and the front windshield had a few cracks.

The roadway was shutdown for a little more than a half-hour.
