A commercial airline pilot has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Clarksburg on charges of traveling across state lines in order to have sex with a 15-year-old girl from Ohio, U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld II said.

Mustafa M. Bazbaz, 28, of Oakdale, Pa., was named in a two-count indictment charging him with travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, Ihlenfeld said.

The indictment states Bazbaz began communicating with the girl in December via the MeetMe.com website, allegedly telling the girl he was 17 and sending her sexually explicit images of himself before arranging to pick her up near her home in Jefferson County, Ohio, in December 2013 and driving her to a hotel room in Hancock County for sex.

If convicted, Bazbaz faces up to 40 years in prison. The case will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert H. McWilliams Jr. and is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Hancock County sheriff's deputies.

In other cases:

 

  • Claude "Mike" Jones, 29, and Desean Lamarr Aaron, 24, of Fairmont, were named in an eight-count indictment charging them with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute crack cocaine, cocaine HCL and heroin. Jones also faces an additional six counts and Aaron, two, for distribution of the controlled substances. Each faces up to 20 years in prison on each count. Their case is being prosecuted by U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley and was investigate by the Three Rivers Drug Task Force.
  • Robert Dale Tasker, 43, an inmate at Tygart Valley Regional Jail in Belington, was indicted on three counts of threatening the president and one count of threatening the president's family. He faces up to five years in prison on each count. The case will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard and was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service.
  • Gary Allen Stewart, 31, of Sutton, was named in a four-count indictment charging him with obstruction of correspondence. His case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Office of Inspector General, and will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Stein.
  • Anthony Scott Moats, 39, of Lost Creek, was indicted on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm. Moats, who has prior felony convictions for burglary, drug distribution and bank theft, allegedly had a firearm in his possession in Monongalia County in September. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted. His case will be prosecuted by Wesley and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the U.S. Marshals Service.
