CHARLESTON, WV -

West Virginia's Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the music of John Williams, one of the world's greatest movie composers. The concert will feature familiar movie classics from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, E.T. – The Extra Terrestrial and others.

The concerts will take place at 8 p.m. March 14-15 in the Maier Foundation Performance Hall at the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences.

"John Williams is one of America's most successful musicians," said Maestro Grant Cooper. "From serving as conductor of the Boston Pops to providing memorable musical scores to some of Hollywood's biggest motion pictures for the past 40-plus years, Williams has done it all - and everything in between.

"The WVSO and I will present a rich cross section of Mr. Williams' music, including some surprises. Every single note we play will have been written by John Williams. Since his music is so suited to the grand sound of a full symphony orchestra, this is an ideal program to showcase the incredible talents of our wonderful orchestra. It will be a blockbuster of an evening, I promise."

Tickets start at $24 for adults and $12 for students and children and are available through the Clay Center box office, 304-561-3570. Tickets may also be ordered online at www.wvsymphony.org.
