In Raleigh County, the "Z-Way" project is almost half-way completed.

The first phase is finished, that's the East Beckley Bypass. A public bid will be put out in the next few weeks for the second phase which will extend the East Beckley Bypass from Stanaford Road all the way to Robert C Byrd Drive by the old Sonic.

"That project, starting in the middle of next month, should be finished by Fall of 2015. So that's what's in the works right now," said Bill Baker, Chairmen on the Beckley-Raleigh County Transportation Authority.

The third phase will construct a new road from the Beckley Bypass into Beaver, then tie into South 19 and widen to 3 lanes until it hits Route 3 going towards Hinton.
