The investigation began in June 2013, when State Troopers interviewed a 13-year-old boy who had apparently been approached by Patton.  According to the criminal complaint, when the boy was at Patton's home, Patton asked the boy to allow him to perform oral sex on the boy.  The victim told troopers that other kids his age had given in to Patton's demands.  The victim also said that Patton watched pornography with his victims.

When State Troopers searched Patton's home, they discovered pornography in what is described as an "upstairs television room." The criminal complaint states that Patton admitted he showed the porn to boys who were 12 to 15-years-old.  Troopers also said that Patton admitted to performing oral sex on the boys.  A forensic analysis of Patton's phone turned up additional evidence against Patton concerning the 13-year-old victim.

Patton was arraigned on Thursday morning.  His bond was set at $250,000.

The investigation is still open.  State Police are asking for any of Patton's other victims to come forward. In fact, there have already been two other victims who have come forward.  Those victims are adults now. Trooper M.S. Efird said that it is possible the alleged sex abuse by Patton has been going on for six years or more. Anyone with information is requested to contact Corporal Efird at 304-256-6700.
