Primaries are almost here, counties prepare for the big day

Posted: Updated:

The primaries are coming up, and although it's not a presidential election year, there's still many candidates to vote for.

Counties all across West Virginia are getting ready for the big day. There are three Magisterial Districts in each county.

Fayette County Clerk Kelvin Holliday told 59News it's important to make your vote count.

"We have several newcomers on the ballot this time. We also have the big races coming up, every single race except President. On the legislative level, and on the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. We have State Senator and House of Delegates which is on the ballot every election," said Holliday.

Voting is from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on May 13th.
