KEYSER, WV -

Scott Rubin has been appointed the assistant director of housing and residence life at Potomac State College of West Virginia University. 

He will oversee residence halls, resident hall coordinators and resident assistants and coordinate staff members' placement, assignments and training. 

Rubin earned his master's and bachelor's degrees in history and a master's certificate in cultural resource management from West Virginia University. He previously served as an area adviser/residence hall coordinator and as a personal assistant to the dean of students at WVU.

He worked as an intern with the West Virginia State Archives.

Rubin has published several works, including "The History of Boreman Hall South," "The History of the Mountaineer Statue" and "The Resident Faculty Leader Program."

He is a member of the Association of College & University Housing Officers-International, the Mid-Atlantic Association of College & University Housing Officers, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators — Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and the American College Personnel Association. He is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
