A man accused of driving drunk tried to run from police in Princeton on Monday afternoon.

The man was going west on Rogers Street when police attempted to pull him over.  That lead to a pursuit that included officer from the Princeton Police Department, Mercer County Sheriff's Deputies and officers from the Division of Natural Resources.

The chase came to an end on Ingleside Road in Princeton at around noon on Monday, March 31.  The suspect was not identified, but officers said he was charged with DUI and Fleeing from an Officer.  More charges could be filed.

Witnesses were alarmed when the law enforcement officers came toward the car with guns drawn.  They searched the car for weapons and drugs.  According to Princeton Police officers that is standard protocol whenever there is a police chase.  No drugs or weapons were found during the search.
