Every year the Chamber of Commerce holds their annual dinner and this year at the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center the featured speaker was a name well known to Southern West Virginia.

Doug Legursky, a starting guard for the Buffalo Bills was all smiles at the armory as he signed autographs and mingled with guests of the dinner.

The Woodrow Wilson hall-of-famer went onto play at Marshall and the Pittsburgh Steelers before signing with the Bills last summer.

Tonight with his wife and son and lots of family and friends on hand, he spoke to the people who have supported him throughout the years.

Marshall baseball was in town today at Linda K. Epling Stadium for the first of a 3 game series against Florida Atlantic University. They defeated FAU in a 5-0 shutout.

Marshall and East Carolina University have agreed to a 2 year home-and-home football series in 2020 and 2021.

The teams will renew a series that dates all the way back to 1967. The Herd defeated the Pirates last season 59-28 in ECU's last season in Conference USA. They will be joining the America Athletic Conference this fall.

Marshall's season-opening visit to Greenville in 2020 will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the deadly plane crash when Marshall's team returned home from a game at ECU.
