If you didn't know, we're getting close to Arbor Day which is April 25th and children in Raleigh County are celebrating a little early and making the world a better place.

Raleigh County "Make it Shine" partnered with the West Virginia Division of Forestry and the Kid's of Harmony Preschool. They planted an 8-foot Dogwood tree on the School of Harmony's playground in Beaver today.

Every student, teacher and employee of the School of Harmony received their own tree seedling. Raleigh County Co-Chair, Sherrie Hunter, told 59News it'll be a great learning experience.

"These children understand the importance of giving it water and attention so they'll watch this Dogwood tree. It'll be blooming in the next couple of weeks so that will be excited for the children to watch that grow," said Sherrie Hunter.

This is the 7th annual tree planting by Raleigh County "Make it Shine."
