UPDATE: Kanawha County, WV fire investigators say storage unit blaze is "suspicious in nature"

UPDATE:

Fire rescue crews from Kanawha County, WV say a fire that happened at a storage unit near Fairview Elementary is suspicious in nature.

The fire broke out just before 6 a.m. on Sunday, April 13. Fire investigators tell 13 News the storage unit had lumber and other supplies used for a haunted house every year.

The storage unit burnt to the ground. WV State Fire Marshals say they are now investigating to determine how the fire started.

No word on damage estimates at this time. The investigation is continuing.

Fire crews were called to the scene of a structure fire at Fairview Elementary School along High St. in West Side around 5:45 am Sunday, April 13. 

According to Kanawha County 911 dispatchers, a building next to the school was fully involved when fire crews arrived. 

There were no reported injuries, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
