MERCER COUNTY, WV -

On April 8th, The mercer County Board of education unanimously approved the new 2014-2015 school calendar. The approved calendar has Teacher's coming back to school on August 4th and students will return on the 7th.

We talked with some Mercer County Students were surprisingly okay with the new schedule.

Candra Frazier is a student in Mercer County and she loves school.

"I think it's okay, because I like school. I have a nice teacher so it's okay with me," she said.

Teachers and staff voted on 2 calendars and both of them had the start date of August 7th.

Mercer County Schools Superintendent, Deborah Akers says the main difference in the two calendars is that the calendar that was approved has a full week off for spring break.
