BECKLEY, W.Va -
At 9 a.m. on Sunday morning Beckley Police Department responded to a call from the Little General store on Johnstown Road.

A store employee said a man came in and demanded they give him the money from the register. The thief got away with some money, but a suspect was later caught and arrested by Beckley police.  No one was hurt and police said most of the stolen money was recovered.

Police said that they arrested Darnell Jackson, 33,  just a couple blocks from the store with about $150 on him. Police said the tread on his shoes matched that of some nearby tracks and that was just one clue that helped investigators solve the case.

Detectives with the Beckley Police said that Jackson admitted to the crime and stated that he had a drug problem and needed money.  He has been charged with Second Degree Robbery.  Jackson is being held in the Southern Regional Jail on a $75,000 bond.
